Since I arrived on these shores, this is a Feast which has grown, both in prominence and in personal devotion, and I would recommend it to my brethren across the pond. Our Lady of Guadalupe is truly a feast for the whole Church - and She is THE image for the pro-life movement. Perhaps She is also the key to the new evangelization?

When I visited Our Lady of Guadelupe shrine in Mexico city a number of years ago I was struck by many things...but one I contemplate often is how devoted the Mexican people were...specifically I recall a woman (one of many people doing the same thing) who was about 8 months pregnant carrying her two toddlers..one in each arm. Walking toward the shrine on her "pilgramage".
Why did this strike me? Because she was walking on her knees!
