New York Priests Search Desperately for Cheese Head Gear

With the news that the famous cheese -product wearing Archbishop Timothy Dolan has been appointed as the new Archbishop of New York, it is reported that Chancery officials are searching desperately for the appropriate head gear. A hollowed -out Gouda cheese is considered ideal.

A baseball cap I could understand, but this is ridiculous! Please tell me this is photoshopped....

[If you wouldn't wear it when the pope is there, don't wear it when the rest of us are there....]

Father, this isn't really very fair, is it. He wore it, for a moment, to show a sort of solidarity when he became Bishop in Milwaukee.

Maybe not what you or I would have done, but, in the circumstances of his taking on that responsibility, maybe the right thing to do.

But we must keep a sense of humour, Ttony...otherwise we would all be crying, remember Chesterton: "for solemnity flows out of men naturally; but laughter is a leap."

What color pompom goes on that biretta? I've never seen a yellow biretta before....:)

A sense of humour ? No, you need an official license for that in the UK at the moment. Never mind underground Masses. We'll have underground Comedy Clubs before that happens. I reckon we're only weeks away from a law which lists the specific jokes to be laughed at. At this very moment, Boots the Chemists are piloting a chuckle monitor in case anyone develops a belly laugh.

Not really. (in case GCHQ in Cheltenham are reading. I only live a short distance from there.)

My nearest big town has just voted to twin with Gaza.

You get the picture.

I believe the only canonical rule about the pompom is that it must be edible and from the cow.
