Flying Owl

The Owl will be on his travels again at the end of June; I have been appointed Pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Stowe and St. John's Parish in Johnson. The Lord has given many blessings during the year here in the North of Vermont, I am grateful to all my parishioners for their support. I pray my ministry in the tourist centre of Vermont (Stowe is a year-round vacation resort) will be filled with blessings - I don't think I can go wrong with a parish dedicated to the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament - announcing the move on the Feast of Corpus Christi!

Best wishes and many prayer to you Father. I remember some years ago being in Stowe on a Sunday and dropping in to the little church there for Mass. I have to say that it seemed to be quite a nice little corner of the world.

There's always snow in Stowe, you know! I think it's a hint that you should take up skiing.

May every blessing accompany you, dear Father. How splendid that you should go to Blessed Sacrament Parish!

I'd hoped that the bishop would be sending you to us. Then I figured you'd been at your current parish too short a time to be moved. I was wrong on both counts...Well changes are in the wind for you and for us as well (both our pastor and our parochial vicar are leaving and our new pastor and parochial vicar will also be responsible for St. Patrick's in Wallingford). But I'm excited about our new pastor and new parochial vicar. I was actually at Father Baker's parish a few weeks back when the bishop celebrated the EF there. It's going to be interesting to see what he'll bring to us. I'm sure that the people in Stowe and Johnson are looking forward to welcoming you as well.

I was saddened when I heard of your pending departure from our parish. But I feel that we have been blessed to have had you as our pastor even if it was for such a short time. Thank you for your spiritual guidance. You have helped many of us to nurture and embrace our faith. We wish you many blessings in your new parish.

Gem - the idea of going down a mountain on two pieces of wood strikes me as insanity - I'll take part in the 'apres ski!'
Everyone else - thank you for your thoughts/prayers.

Owl...many prayers! May His will be done! Johnson still isn't so far from "the Burg" we won't be strangers and will look forward to seeing you in your new parish.

Hi Father, it's Laura from the Catholic Center! I'm living back home up in Newport now and working at the hospital there. I can't believe you're getting moved again--you never stay in any one place for very long... you must get sick of packing and unpacking all the time! Stowe's lucky to have you, but I'm sure Swanton will miss you, too!

the Owl of the Remove again becomes the Howl of the Removed! Kidding aside, Blessed Sacrament Church is a very unique church. The painting behind the altar brings me to meditation every time I see it. Blessings to you both going and coming.
