Blog Last Rites

Last night the doctor was summoned to the bedside of the Owl of the Remove blog. It has been sickening for some time. Last night the breathing became laboured, some thought they could hear the death rattle. Several pious women are praying by the bed, hoping for a miraculous recovery.......perhaps their devout petitions will be heard. At the moment, it is 50/50.... the priest was called around midnight to administer the Last Rites......it will all depend on the prayer of the faithful. If the sun comes up in the morning, perhaps there will be life in the old blog, it is so hard to say...there is so little strength in the old and weak body...........prayers please!

Definitely praying for the blog's recovery, Father. Miracles do happen so I'm not giving up hope!

O Father of mercies and God of all comfort, our only help in time of need: We humbly beseech thee to behold, visit, and relieve thy sick servant the Owl of the Remove, for whom our prayers are desired. Look upon this noble blog with the eyes of thy mercy; comfort the Owl with a sense of thy goodness; preserve him from the temptations of the enemy; and give him patience under his affliction. In thy good time, restore the Owl to regular publication, and enable him to lead the residue of his life in thy fear, and to thy glory; and grant that finally he may dwell with thee in life everlasting, through the Word Incarnate, the true inspiration of all inky wretches. Amen.

No, no, no! I've only just found you! This is not the time: wait at least until the flowers appear in our land...

!!! -== oh, for pity's sake -- have a whiskey and soda, you will feel really good.

[Praying for your blog's health. If you need to go on hiatus for a bit, don't to something really stupid like delete the blog.]

Everyone gets the winter dumps -- even me here in sunny San Diego.

Order a take out pizza and make them deliver it through the snow drifts to rescue.

I would NOT order the pizza with "saltbeef and mustard" - especially if you were going to drink it with Quantro.

And by all means, avoid "goulash with ice cream and kippers.."

I'll give you a thousand brownie points if you can name the musical reference.

I know Zero can drive anyone around the bend, but if the sharks didn't get him in Hawaii, perhaps he'll take a header from the Truman balcony and then "Things are looking up...it's a great little world we live in."

[Extra points for this 2nd ref.]

Why don't you write about the books you are reading. I bet you always have one (or more)going. Or, you could write a snippet about one of your homilies of the week. A few lines about the walking dead (& I don't mean zombies) from today's homily could be helpful for someone.

But we like zombies, Laurie....

Father, no we really DON'T LIKE Zombies...just ask Bob Hope.

Might I suggest a strong dose of Marmite on toast with lashings of freshly brewed tea. After the aforementioned repast the world will seem a much better place and both the blog and blogger will be fully restored to their former glory.
