Not Just St. Valentine's Day

February 14th is also the Feast of St. Cyril and St. Methodius, who are also joint Patrons of Europe, where it is celebrated as a Feast. Pope John Paul the Great said that the Church must breathe "with both lungs," - the East and the West - rather than the commercial hype of "Valentine's Day" (when was he de-canonized?) let us pray for the union of the Church of Rome and the Church of Constantinople.
