Just Curious: who is the original "owl of the remove"?
Well, do it on a Sunday!
Am I right in thinking "the remove" is a shell in the old English school system? Even with reading Tom Brown's school days I never quite got that right. It seems like there was a 4th form and then a "remove" before 5th form. What did the "remove" signify? That one was almost ready for the next form?

You should do a post explaining Bunter to Americans. It could be fun.
I prefer the mystery! (plus everyone has Google!)
Ok, fine. Got the Billy Bunter part. Having problems with the "remove".
Ditto on the "remove" - it seems to vary from school to school from what I can gather. In some it's for students who have failed exams...but that doesn't always seem to be the case, depending on the school!
